wonderful weekend

I went for a quick visit to the Gulf Coast this weekend to visit some friends. I had such a terrific time. I got to laugh and chat with friends, hug and kiss their children, and remember why I miss them all so much. Thank you all for being the best friends a girl could wish for. Looking forward to the next time.

a trip to see GiGi

We took a weekend trip up to South Carolina to see Scott's grandmother, aunt, and uncle. We had so much fun and the boys didn't want to come home. Seth actually came down from being tucked in for bed crying because he missed his Aunt Carolyn. A quick good night phone call seemed to do the trick. We are looking forward to our next visit. Seth, me, Ethan, GiGi, and Scott

Tiger Cub Camping trip

Ethan had his first Cub Scout camping trip last weekend. As a tiger cub you are required to have a parent come with you and the whole family is invited to come along. Seeing as how I am not a camping kind of girl (nor a hiking, sleeping with critters, and not having running water kind of girl) I decided not to participate in the weekend festivities. Seth and I stayed home went to Mexican for lunch, then to the library and read books most of the afternoon (much more to my liking). Ethan had a BLAST! He couldn't stop talking about it. I was relieved to hear from him that not only did he not see any snakes, but he didn't spot any bears either :) The tent is set up and ready to be slept in.
Ethan's pirate pumpkin. For those of you who watch veggie tales (and those of you who don't really should....they are so funny!) can't you see this pirate pumpkin in the next episode?
This was called the Body Bopper. You get in, run toward someone else in a body bopper and try to knock each other down. The first one to fall over is the loser. Kind of like human bumper cars, I guess? Ethan was pleased he "won" both times he participated. Something tells me there are no Body Bopper contests at Brownie/Girl Scout camp outs.
The next game was "Eating a cookie off a string". Cookie, string, hands behind back....pretty self explanatory.

work picnic

Scott had an employee picnic at work a couple of weeks ago. It was rather impressive. There were bouncy houses, carnival games, lots of food, and they even had the heavy duty machinery out to take pictures on. We couldn't pass up on that opportunity.

I'm still here

I have some cute pics to post of Ethan's first camping trip and the picnic at Scott's work, but I am down for the count. I have some sort of cold/sinus yuckiness and I plan to spend some quality time in my bed with my eyes closed today. I'll get to is ASAP.

Doggie Doctor Seth

Today was career day at Seth's school. He had to dress up like what he wants to be when he grows up. For those of you who know Seth well, you know that since he was 2 years old, he has never wavered on wanting to be a "doggie doctor" when he grows up. He even had a 20 questions session with our vet before we left Mississippi. Here is a photo below. Who knew a navy uniform shirt could double as a doctor's coat? He was thrilled that he got to take his puppy out to the playground with him.
